CIVIL/SITEWORK DESIGN
HARRISON COUNTY, INDIANA
The
Caesars Indiana Hotel and Casino is located in Harrison
County, Indiana, along the Ohio River on S.R. 111. The facility
encompasses 125 acres and includes a pavilion, hotel, two
parking garages, nature preserve center, warehouse, wastewater
treatment facility, roads, bridges, surface parking and
wetlands. |

As
part of a five-firm design team, VS ENGINEERING,
INC. successfully completed civil/sitework design
work, coordinated the construction activities with Smoot
Construction, L.L.C. and provided the periodic construction
supervision services for this project. Paul Steelman Design
Group was the Prime Consultant for this project. VS ENGINEERING,
INC.’s civil/sitework design services including
the following: |

Site access roads, entrances, exits and loading docks
• Site grading, paving, sodding, planting, erosion
control, etc. at both sites to provide a visually
effective and easily maintainable landscape
• Storm and sanitary sewer systems and improvement
of drainage conditions
• Water distribution systems, fire hydrants, valves,
etc. to provide complete loop systems
• Connection and adjustment of all utilities
• Pavement markings including streets, parking lots,
curbs, handicapped ramps, etc
• Entry plaza, sidewalks, curbs, gutters, etc
• Miscellaneous structures and sitework
• Coordination with prime consultant, design team
of multiple subconsultants, utilities, and local,
state and federal regulatory agencies
• Preparation of plans, specifications, cost estimates
and permit documents
• Rip-rap and Gabion Basket Erosion Control for
Knob Creek Bridge
• Design of right turn/deceleration lane on S.R.
111
• Site line analysis and visual impact study of
hotel and 3,000 car parking garage in relation to
historic building.
