ADVANCED WASTEWATER TREATEMENT PLANT
FACILITY EXPANSION AND UPGRADE
INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA
The
Belmont Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant (AWTP) project
improvements consisted of modifying, upgrading and expanding
the existing pre-treatment and primary treatment facilities.
This was accomplished through the construction of plant
influent drains and interceptors ranging in size from 42"
through 96"; the abandonment of Pleasant Run and Adler-McCarty
interceptors; the construction of the Trash Rack Building,
Screw Pump Building, Grit Facilities and Blower Building;
the installation of screw pumps, comminutors, screening
channels, sluice gates, blowers, a 20" air line to
existing pre-aeration channels, 120" flow bypass lines,
flow retention basins, instrumentation and controls.

Review and approval of construction schedules
• Management of pre-construction conferences, progress
meetings and other job-related meetings
• Provision of Chief Resident Engineer responsible
for construction management, coordination
and scheduling of work for various contractors
and inspectors
• Review of all inspection and test reports by inspectors
and tracking of contractors’ progress,
pay quantities and payment requests
• Review and approval of shop drawings, change orders,
etc.
• Communication between owner, contractors and regulatory
agencies
• Generation of final construction reports, final
estimates and project close-out.
