MARTINDALE-BRIGHTWOOD NEIGHBORHOOD
COMBINED SEWER REHABILITATION, PHASE 2

The Combined Sewer Rehabilitation (Phase 2) for the Martindale-Brightwood Neighborhood Area utilized the following methods:

• Cured-in-place lining (CIPP;)
• Structural Repair (Point Repair) via excavation
   and replacement; and
• Structural Repair using CIPP point liner.

The project included 11,980 LF of Cured-in-place (CIPP) lining ranging in size from 12 to 24 inches, 85 LF of structural repair (point repair) via excavation and replacement, and CIPP point liner for sewers ranging in size from 12 to 20 inches. Bypass pumping was performed during sewer rehabilitation work to isolate sewer segments.

VS ENGINEERING, INC. served as the inspection consultant on this project for the City of Indianapolis.



Duties included safety monitoring, review of TV tape before and after liner installation (to check line cleanliness and CIPP construction quality and to verify lateral hook-ups,) and quality control and project documentation. The project was inspected in accordance with the Department of Public Works’ (DPW) Policy and Procedures Manual for Inspection of Locally Funded Construction Projects.
