EAST 86th STREET AT KEYSTONE AVENUE ROAD RESURFACING, AUXILIARY LANE CONSTRUCTION AND SIGNAL INSTALLATION INDIANAPOLIS, INDIANA DPW PROJECT NO.: ST-04-062 /INDOT PROJECT NO.: R-24556 As Prime Consultant, VS ENGINEERING INC. provided construction inspection services for the East 86th Street at Keystone Avenue road resurfacing, auxiliary lane construction and traffic signal installation project. The project involved adding 1,000 feet turn lanes for eastbound and westbound East 86th Street, adding new traffic signals, and widening and resurfacing pavement. In addition, three concrete barrier walls between the twin Keystone Avenue overpass bridges were constructed, straight and shop curved guardrails were installed, and a six-foot wide, 900-foot long concrete center curb and two concrete curb-surrounded sod center islands were constructed. The street was widened on both sides, which required concrete pavement removal, concrete pavement patching and asphalt widening. VS ENGINEERING INC. provided the following services for this project:
	• Daily inspection of sub/contractors’ work for conformance with plans and INDOT specifications • Sampling and testing of materials • Reporting/documenting materials received and verifying INDOT approved sources • Writing daily, weekly and monthly reports • Tracking progress of work on a unit price basis for bi-monthly contractor pay vouchers • Maintaining files of all work item invoices and weigh tickets • Regular interaction with contractors for clarification and interpretation of contract requirements • Assurance of proper and safe maintenance of traffic measures during on-going construction • Availability to the public to answer questions and concerns • Quality control • Final project accounting, including project close-out.
